A minor student from a private CBSE school in Prayagraj moved the Allahabad High Court through her mother, asking the court to issue a direction to the school authorities to permit her to wear a headscarf in addition to the uniform prescribed by the school

As of now, August 27 will not see a nationwide school holiday across India. Decisions on school closures will be left to local authorities, taking weather and safety into account. Heavy rainfall is expected in various states, particularly Uttarakhand and Odisha, which may lead to interruptions. Moreover, Gurugram has taken steps to ensure safe transportation for students.

Delhi schools must increase preventive measures against seasonal influenza and H1N1. Students and staff need awareness of symptoms and basic hygiene practices. Schools should promote regular handwashing and maintain clean, well-ventilated environments. Self-medication is discouraged, and medical advice is recommended for any symptoms. District officials will monitor school compliance with these important health directives.

"If no safe alternative route is available, students must be kept on school premises under staff supervision and parents must be informed immediately," the DC order states
